VKSS
VKSS (Visual Kinesthetic Sentence Structuring) was developed by Dr. Ann Alexander and Jane Lawyer in an attempt to fill the gap between reading sentences and interpreting the meaning of those sentences. VKSS is a unique approach to teaching syntax (grammar). Your child will not just memorize parts of speech; instead, he or she will discover what each part means, how it functions in a sentence, and how each part adds to the overall meaning in a sentence. This greatly enhances oral comprehension and written expression, as well as the understanding of grammar. VKSS was developed as a precursor to VV® (see below).
VV®
Many children who experience difficulty with language comprehension are not forming mental images from the words they read and hear and/or have difficulty expressing these images. The Nancibell® Visualizing and Verbalizing® Program for Language Comprehension and Thinking directly helps children with L/LD discover how to more effectively use mental imagery and describe these images in a structured manner. This process improves comprehension, oral and written expression, and memory.
Morphology
This program will help your child appreciate and understand the orgins and structure of English words. This deeper understanding enhances vocabulary and strengthens comprehension of language and ultimately reading and writing skills.
