Intervention: It’s Never Too Late
Intervention helps children:
*gain success in areas where they were previously lagging
*increase standardized testing scores
*improve academic performances
*appreciate the value of reading and writing
*enhance self-esteem and sense of self-confidence
Most individuals begin with LiPS® program (Lindamood Phonemic Sequencing® Program for Reading, Spelling and Speech) to improve phonological processing.
If needed, they progress to other programs.
The VKSS (Visual Kinesthetic Sentence Structuring) program helps individuals understand sentence structure as it relates to auditory comprehension or written language.
The VV® (Visualizing and Verbalizing®) program helps strengthen concept imagery to enhance auditory and reading comprehension.
Some individuals also participate in our Morphology program to help develop an understanding of the origins of English words, which in turn strengthens vocabulary, reading, writing and spelling skills.
Based on their performance on assessments, many individuals will also have Occupational Therapy as part of their intervention plan. OT therapy sessions address weaknesses with fine motor, gross motor, visual perception and/or sensory processing.
